SHIRT SHORT MESSAGE

if it fits on a shirt, it's fine...
DESCRIPTION

This method is as simple as it sounds. It’s all about getting the message fit to a shirt. s

Short. Clear. Crisp.

ORIGIN

Allthough ptobably existing somewhere as an official smart method, this one was at least ALSO created by story53.

Approximately needed time
  • Step 1: 2 hours
  • Step 2: 2 hours
  • Step 3: 2 hours
  • Step 4: 2 hours
  • TOTAL: 8 hours
METHOD

MATERIAL YOU COULD NEED: Stuff to write. Flipcharts, Markers, etc…

STAKEHOLDER GOOD TO KNOW: Marketeers and leads who have already created the messages and vision of the product.

STEPS
one

WHAT’S ALREADY THERE: Gather the messages already in place.

Collect all messages which have already been created. By chance even those who did not make it to a slide.

two

IDENTIFY: Get the reason and intensions

Find out what the intension behind every message is. Challenge if it implements a call2action which needs to be placed. List the messages on a (virtual?) board and challenge yourself as a team what’s behind the message…

Supporting methods: Brainstorming, mind mapping

three

MAPPING: Clean up the messages

Create a chart of your messages and find out if they map with your intensions towards your goals. Now start reducing the message to single words or hashtags. Discuss the reason why those hashtags would fit and align to max 3 of them.

four

TRANSFER: Hashtag yourself on a shirt

Reduce the messages to the an imperative message fitting to the original one. Accept a space for interpretation as your focus is on shortening… It could now sound like a slogan or be a reduced message important for your product.

five

PRINT IT!

ANECDOTES:

Every time the slide with this message is showed in one of our keynotes, somebody raises the question if he/she can have one of the shirts. Although we never printed a single one, it could be a nice Idea to challenge…
